The person behind Nicier

Ray Wilkins on coaching, children's books and why they belong together.

Don't be nice, be Nicier

Hello, I'm Ray

I help high-achieving professionals and organisations move from potential to performance.

As a careers and life coach, I work closely with individuals, and sometimes their families, to define clear career goals and build practical, tailored strategies to achieve them. By combining emotional intelligence with coaching techniques built with only you in mind, I help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Whether you are navigating a career or life transition, seeking progression, or refining your direction, I provide honest guidance, accountability and a plan built around you specifically, because one size doesn't fit all.

Why I write for children

I watched my young son as he watched a few TV shows, among them Bob the Builder, Teletubbies and Tweenies. I noticed he was chuckling at them but not learning anything, and I wished he could get more from them. One night I had a vivid dream about my son learning something useful, a life skill, while being entertained and amused, using a variety of languages. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. That vivid dream became Paul the Pilot. [RAY: confirm you are happy to name those TV shows; add what the series aims to do and any publishing activities to name.]

One person, two ways to help

Nicier is where my coaching and the Paul the Pilot books come together. [RAY: finish this in one or two sentences of your own: the link between guiding adults through career decisions and guiding children through new languages.]

How I like to work

Clear communication, practical solutions and honesty about what is possible. [RAY: keep, change or remove. This echoes the values in your brief.]

Journeys so far

  • 3languages alongside English: Mandarin, Spanish and French
